Treasury Saturday – July 18th
Happy Saturday everyone and welcome to another edition of Treasury Saturday! Lots of fun treasuries were made this past week…lets get started!
The first treasury this week I’m showing to you is by SewUpScale called, ‘Music to my Ears’. My Tennis Shoe Windmill Quilt was featured in this beautiful Quiltsy-full treasury.
KarolsVintageArt featured my Groovy Purple Wave Wristlet in her ‘Purple Haze’ treasury.
‘Simply Irrisistable’ was put together by CacheCreekQuilts and featured my ‘Where’s the Point – Firework’s Quilt’.
‘Spring Flowers’ was featured in Lori411’s treasury ‘Such Pretty Things.’'
BatChenDesigns featured theApple’s Get Your Circle’s In a Row Candy Drop Ring in her beautiful treasury “Summer Vacation Blossom”. ‘Wonderful Things’ was created by UniquelyNancy and featured my mother-in-law’s Montana Star Quilt.
Springtime Wonder Quilt was featured in Editionbw’s ‘Happy to be Gorgeous Orange’ Treasury.
BrennieQuilts made this treasury ‘Just Stitiching Away’ and featured my Spring Flower’s Quilt – Retro.
UniquelyNancy included me in another treasury this week. This time she featured my mother-in-law’s Bright and Beautiful Buffalo Ridge Quilt in her treasury ‘Red White and Blue all Over’.
KarolsVinatageArts included the Patina Chunky Bracelet from theApple in her beautiful treasury, ‘Indian Summer.’ I created this treasury yesterday and called it, “Time for Tea”.
This is the other treasury I created this week: “Summer Brilliance.”
And once again, that concludes treasury Saturday. I had a lot of fun making the treasuries and I have a fabulous poster sketch ready for when it opens up again so stay tuned next Saturday!
Now it’s time for me to head to the farmer’s market and the zoo! Yeah!
Themed Thursday – SUMMER TIME!
I know this week’s theme seems obvious considering it’s summer time, but it took me forever to come up with one. All my past theme’s have been easy since it’s related to something going on in my life at the time. Things are starting to slowly settle down…at least for this week.
Summer Time was inspired by a quilt a fellow quiltsy teammate made. I feel that Kimbuktu is definitely onto something great: a beach quilt! Jamaican Beach Quilt
Perfect for lounging by the pool or laying on the sand, this brightly colored beach quilt rolls up and travels with you. 100% quality cotton prints and cotton batting have been used in this comfortable and beautiful quilt, and I've quilted it with a freestyle large stipple pattern.
The backing is a beige kona cotton. Two ties function as a closure when the quilt is rolled, and there is a loop long enough for hanging, or carrying on your shoulder.
Here are a few more things that reminded me of summertime:
Ryeleighrose’s Summer Time Flower Clip would be perfect for a summer time date or grill out party.
It’s not summer time without a few Margarita’s!
UNDER THE OCEAN MARGARITA GLASS - handpainted painting fish beach art from Pendragonartworks.
These Summer Blue Fine Art Photographs by Kristybee remind me of the essence of summer…
and of course…what’s summer without a Pool?

I hope you enjoyed this weeks Themed Thursday edition!
NEW! Bright and Beautiful Buffalo Ridge Baby Quilt
Diane, my mother-in-law, made this Bright and Beautiful Buffalo Ridge Baby Quilt as a teaching sample for a quilt retreat sponsored by Quilts by Barb (quiltsbybarb.etsy.com) held at Easter Seals Camp Wawbeek in Wisconsin Dells, WI.
The pattern for this quilt came from Pat Speth and Charlene Thode’s book ‘Nickel Quilts’. This is one of my favorite pattern books. So many great variations of quilts that help you use up your 5-inch scraps! ‘More Nickel Quilts’ and ‘Amazing Nickel Quilts’ are now also available!
This quilt is the pure definition of a ‘scrappy’ quilt. Diane incorporated a variety of baby commercial fabric scraps along with some of gorgeous jewel tone fabric that she hand dyed. Add the black commercial fabric covered with golden stars as the accent fabric and you have one beautiful baby quilt! All the different colors and patterns will definitely stimulate any child’s imagination!
Diane’s sister, Barb, used her long arm quilting machine to cover this quilt with a fabulous, whimsical floral quilted pattern…just stunning!

Blue Hill By Hand - More Earrings
Natural nuts that are abundantly growing in the exotic Philippine islands are used to make these earrings so unique. No plants and trees are cut just for the purpose of collecting the seeds and nuts. The nuts are merely harvested when they have fully matured.
An interesting variety of material was used to create this fabulous look: recycled rubber from bicycle tire tubes, birch bark collected from fallen trees in northern Wisconsin, horn beads, and copper wire.
NEW! Under the Sea Baby Quilt
This fun and colorful quilt is sure to inspire any baby to look,
touch and play! This is the very first raw-edged appliqué quilt I ever attempted. As you can see I can never just sort of do anything! Crazy colored seaweed is surrounded by a wacky fish, a brightly colored octopus and a lazy sea turtle. The sea is made from a gorgeous piece of fabric that I hand-dyed and a fun-rainbow colored fabric borders this under the sea wonderland.
A ridiculously cozy and cute flannel whale and crab printed fabric backs this quilt.
My aunt-in-law Barb, did the beautiful wave-like quilting with her long-arm quilting machine.
Quilt Dimensions: approximately 41” x 36”
