Well, it seems that now the weather is a lot nicer out I have had a lot less time to spend on my blogging. I am still going to attempt to post every other day at least, but please be patient if I miss a few days…my girls just LOVE playing outside and it makes them sleep better. Can’t beat that!

I have been working on a few new projects for my etsy shop this week though. A couple of bags and I finished off a quilt.

The first bag I completed is a Floral Quilted Shoulder Bag. This fun and unique bag was made from my original pattern. I developed it about 4 years ago and made a bag for each of the bridesmaids in my wedding to put their ‘survival’ kit in. There are two straps that can either just be simply tied together or they can be tied to each to create an adjustable strap. The exterior of each bag is made out of material that I hand-dyed. My aunt-in-law, Barb, from www.quiltsbybarb.etsy.com machine quilted a gorgeous floral pattern on the bag with her long-arm machine.

Vibrant pink, greens, teals, purples and yellows make up the outer layer of hand dyed fabric on this bag. A purple star printed commercial fabric is used as the interior. This bag is quilted with an Americana pattern. The bag measures ~20’ wide and ~14’ in depth. The straps are each ~34’ long and can be tied to a maximum length of ~51’ and a minimum of ~30’. The inside of the bag has one pocket that has been divided into three sections: the first 1” x 6.25”, the second 4.5” x 6.25” and the third 3.5” x 6.25”. A button clasp closes the bag.

The second bag I completed this week is my Elegant ‘Kiss’ Wristlet. I just LOVE the fabrics I used to make this wristlet! My stomach hurt just looking at them because they are so rich and gorgeous. I combined a circle print with a striped print for the exterior bag and used a complimentary textured print for the interior lining. I then added smoky rose Lucite beads to the corners of the bag to thread the silver chained fiber rope through for handles.

This bag is sure to catch people’s eyes.

Approximate Dimensions: Bottom ~7” square, ~4.5” deep, handles ~ 11”

In the midst of my bag frenzy I received some quilts back from Barb that she had quilted for me.

Here is one of those quilts: Raggy Bullseye!

This is an extremely scrappy quilt that was really fun to make! Layers of multiple fabric circles sewed on in the rag style gives this quilt its unique look. My aunt-in-law, Barb, from www.quiltsbybarb.com, quilted just a simple random meandering pattern all over the quilt. Because of the busyness of the raggy bullseye’s the quilt really didn’t need any intricate quilting…it would have just been lost.

This quilt will be perfect to snuggle up in and read a book!

And that’s what I’ve completed thus far this week!

Happy Wednesday everyone! I actually have an excel spreadsheet that has lists of ideas I have for this blog (My word is not working on this computer...no idea why...). I looked at my list this morning and I decided to show you all the quilt that I made for my daughter Cedi.

Cedi received MANY MANY fabulous quilts when she was born. The beautiful one from Barb and Katrina, the amazing Jungle one from her Grandma and a gorgeous one from her aunt Karma (I have yet to feature it but don't worry...it's coming).

I also wanted to make her a fabulous quilt but I love to do things differently. I decided that I would make her a brightly colored fun rag quilt! I am hoping this is going to be the one she carries around until it literally is rags. Right now it's her bedtime quilt.

They say that bright colors help to stimulate babies and small children...well, I made her a bright one! I didn't do just squares on this rag quilt either...I mixed in diagonals and split pieces and mini squares all together to create something even more fun to look at.

I also did free motion quilting within each block. This helped me practice for when I had bigger pieces to quilt.

It's a very warm and cozy quilt that I hope she continues to love for years to come!

This adorably cute deep purple apron is the newest item to my collection. I appliquéd a cute cupcake onto the apron front. I used a red button as the cherry on top. My daughter was very happy to be my model for this project and I think she did a fabulous job!

Seriously! How cute is that smile!

I think the amazing modeling is going to be what sells this apron!

AND NOW here are the entries for this month's challenge! Not quite as many as the Spring Fling Challenge but some amazing work was done!

I will start out the 'show' of the entries with my own..."Patchwork Corduroy Quilt."
This quilt was inspired by the book 'Corduroy' by Don Freeman for the EtsyBABY Story Time Team Challenge.A patchwork blue, green and brown base make up the main part of the quilt. Light blue faux bois fabric borders this patchwork. 'Corduroy' is made from brown suede and some upcycled cordoroy's. Black buttons make up his eyes and two green buttons are for his overalls (one is 'lost' in the quilt). It is perfect for a little boy or girl...they will love the different textures! The buttons are securely sewn on using extra strong thread (quilting thread). I quilted a random pattern throughout the quilt and appliqued the bear on. My signature fancy stitch border is also quilted on.

Yup, it's time for yet another edition of Treasury Saturday! I was only able to get two this week but I'm really happy with how they turned out!



This first one I called, "old fashioned LOVE in SEPIA". It is a mixture of amazing handmade items that use Sepia tones. Some even have splashes of other colors that really pop against this old fashion, nostalgic collection.







"YOU THOUGHT" is a treasury made by UniquelyNancy. Everyone in this treasury is a member of the quiltsy team but it shows the versatility in our skills...none of the items are quilts! She chose to feature my Dinasour Egg Wire Wrapped Necklace.









SageWest included my mother-in-law's Doe A Deer Wall Hanging Part 2 in her stunning Heaven and Earth Curation.










This is the treasury west I put together - FUN and FABULOUS. It was a shout out to my fun and talented quiltsy teammates!
