Always in Season Retail Store

I had the pleasure of meeting some truly lovely ladies from the Always In Season store at the Wholesale show I attended last month. They turned into my first wholesale customers!

001

I dropped off the remainder of their order last week and was able to take a peek at the store. It was truly lovely and what a great cause! (the zippered bags I made…)

Per the website:

The Always in Season retail store is located in the Health Care Center Annex in Independence, WI. It features seasonal decorations and crafts, gently used books, a variety of cheeses, patio and lawn decorations, specialty foods, gift baskets, and more. In addition, in the early spring Always in Season hosts the Picket Fence Perennial Sale which offers gardeners a wide variety of perennial flowers and plants.

AIS Products

The store also features goods produced by AIS Products. AIS Products is a division of the Vocational Rehabilitation Department of the Trempealeau County Health Care Center.

Resin Products

AIS Products produces their own molds, pours them with a resin mixture and adds the finishing touches. Resin items are extremely durable. It affords clients living in our communities and residing in our facility with work to enhance their daily lives.

Our products are available to retail and wholesale representatives. AIS Products currently has several contracts for replication. We can be contacted if you are in need of replicating an item in resin. Visit the Sub-Contracting page for more information.

Participants in the Vocational Program are involved in the production of the resin products. Our mission in the Vocational Program is "to create a higher quality of living for individuals by developing vocational skills, use of client empowerment and preparation for the public and/or sheltered work force."

During my visit I was happy to see some familiar items!

016These lovely items are from StorylineDesign.017 012 The bags on display are from yours truly, KimsCraftyApple. 014Does this display look familiar? Yup, it’s the same place I contract out to… Blue Hill By Hand. 015 And some fabulous headbands from the lovely tiebeau.

I only took pictures of the items in which I knew the artists’ behind them. There were tons of fabulous, one of a kind, items for sale. I was only there about a half hour but could have easily spent much more time. I even ended up buying a birthday gift for my sister-in-law, Karma. (Can’t talk about it too much since I haven’t given it to her yet).

Make sure to check out their website by clicking HERE to find out more about their operation.

My 'Shop' at the Wisconsin Group

As I mentioned in earlier posts I participated in a wholesale show earlier this week. Here are some pictures of me setting up my shop!

The first thing I did was haul up all of my things from the van. I think it took me four trips.
One of the great things about using apple crates is that you can use them for hauling all of your things and then re-use them to create a fun display!

Welcome to my 'shop' - Kim's Crafty Apple (and theApple)!

And here I am! The last day of the sale. Wearing some of my things (necklace, earrings, and hand-dyed tank) and of course my fabulous vendor apron that I purchased from OriginalsbyLauren!

I would love to hear what you think of my booth set-up...suggestions are always welcome!

Getting Ready for the Wholesale Show - Chunky Beaded Bracelets

I'm typically pretty good and writing a regular blog post but I've been absent the last couple of days... I was busy getting ready for my very first wholesale show that I was in this past Sunday and Monday.

One of the items I was offering at wholesale prices was my Chunky Beaded Bracelet. I whipped up a bunch of different ones in different color combinations to prepare for the show. I'll be posting some that I did not sell throughout the next couple of weeks.

I set up in my living room so I could comfortably make the bracelets instead of in my cold basement workshop.I have a problem deciding on just a few colors so I decided to make some of almost all the available color combinations! It was more fun that way :) Here is a picture of a few of the bracelets that I put together before the show. They still need jump rings and lobster claws but I did manage to fully complete them all in time.

I'll be doing more posts about the lessons I learned from doing a wholesale show throughout this week.

I am also going to be busy getting prepared for the hand-dying workshop that I am teaching and organizing for this upcoming Saturday. If you're interested it's not too late to sign up!
