That's right it's Saturday! Time for an overview of the Treasuries this past week....but first, I wanted to wish my Mother a very happy Birthday! I hope you have a fabulous day mom!

Waiting to be found is another treasury I managed to put together. I had started a thread earlier this week to let everyone know that my shop makeover is complete (split into two...redid ALL my pictures) and I was ready to be 'found'. I featured these other fabulous shops that responded to the thread that they too were ready to be 'found'. I feel that I 'found' a lot of amazing artists!

My mother-in-law, Diane, my daughter, Cedi, and I decided one Saturday afternoon, (after story time at the library) to check out the new quilting shop in Lodi, WI, people had been talking about. We were not disappointed! The owner, Patti Hellenbrand, is a kind and knowledgeable quilter who, to my delight, also teaches classes!



Unfortunately, I had already missed the first two classes of the year and the third was full. Oh, well, the fourth one was the one I really wanted to attend anyway! We were making ‘The Matilda’ a pattern from Indygo Junction. It looked like a fabulous bag and I was really excited to make it! When I read through what I needed I picked out my fabrics – A floral brown and white print with a coordinating brown circle printed fabric. For the interior a gorgeous hand-dyed deep, earthy orange. I went to do some cutting before I got to the class and realized…it’s all from a pattern! I’ve never done a pattern before…better just wait until I get to class.

I arrived a few minutes early last night…I had intended on being much earlier than that but life with two kids just doesn’t allow for that much anymore. Only one other lady, Tykie, was in attendance due to some last minute cancelations. I personally thought that was fabulous. Below is a picture of Tykie cutting out her fabrics using the pattern included in the kit.

Okay, I admit it...I haven't been super inspired to blog lately so I'm copping out and sharing with you something I filled out on facebook a few months ago.

25 Things that you may or may not know about me!

1. I have been trying to avoid doing this but people keep tagging me so I'm giving in.
2. I have a beautiful, active, articulate, amazing 2 1/2 year old Cedi who never ceases to amaze me with the things she says (I want boobies for my birthday!)
3. I have a beautiful, active, amazing 15 month old who has such a huge, stunning smile that it's almost as if her face isn't big enough for it.
4. I am a part owner/operator of an apple orchard and I can't even keep a cactus alive (good thing I'm able to sell things).
5. I would say I'm pretty good at selling things...I've sold bracelets' of my wrist and the sweatshirt off my back!
6. I was able to retire from engineering at 25.
7. I'm addicted to making things...if I don't make things for awhile my husband sends me to my workshop because I'm too crabby.
8. I have an amazing, understanding husband...I never thought I would find someone who would put up with my crap but I did!
9. I'm really bad at 'searching' for things on the internet.
10. It's difficult for me to do one thing at a time (right now I have six windows open).
11. I love helping people find there "favorite" apple...the looks on there faces when they bight into an amazing one is just priceless.
12. I run five blogs.
13. I LOVE getting my haircut and the only direction I give my haircutter is that I want it shorter.
14. I watch Days of Lives if I'm home at Noon.
15. When I read I go into my own little world...I can tune everything out around me (my husband hates this).
16. I like to shop on oldnavy.com and then exit before I actually buy anything...it makes me feel like I'm shopping without spending all that money.
17. I like to buy hats, my head shape works with them, but I rarely wear them. (headbands too)18. I have lost 60lbs since last March.
19. I love to cook but I hate taking the time to do it.
20. My favorite professor in college was actually my Calculus II professor...Professor Nagel.
21. I don't have an adventurous bone in my body.
22. I like going on trips but I absolutely LOVE when I get home.
23. I have REALLY bad eyesight.
24. My toes only have one joint in them...they're quite short.
25. My favorite game is SCRABBLE!

It seems that my Candy Drop rings have been fairly popular so I have decided to make more!

Here are a few of my latest:

Candy Drop Flower Ring:

This fabulous ring screams “Let’s have some FUN!”  I used a Hill Tribes fine silver, 39mm flower with 3-loops, 5-6mm band, adjustable ring base.  The adjustable part of this ring is a wrap around (as you should be able to see in the pictures) so it eliminates that ‘pinching’ you sometimes get with adjustable rings.  I then embellished this fabulous floral base with bright and colorful epoxy candy drop beads.  Without a doubt this ring will draw some attention! 

This ring actually already sold to someone from France!  Yeah!

Turquoise Copper Cuff

I have also recently listed a fabulous new cuff.  I started with a gorgeous copper cuff base and then I randomly wove copper wire threaded with African Turquoise and copper spacers inside of the cuff.  I am extremely happy with the end result.  This bracelet is truly gorgeous and will catch people’s eyes for sure!

The cuff measures approximately 7” from end to end but is very malleable and should fit most wrist sizes.  The bracelet measures 1 5/8” wide. 

 

Dyed Silk Twisted Black Onyx Necklace

This new necklace at the Apple is quite simple…but that’s what makes it so wonderful.  I took a piece of variegated dyed-silk ribbon and attached a stunning twisted black onyx focal bead. 

A knot and loop combination was made to keep the necklace on…all very organic looking.  Also, this simple attachment method makes adjusting the length really easy…just move the knot!

Length as is:  16” and can be adjusted to be longer (add a note to seller)

 

Scrappy Baby Quilt

My mother-in-law, Diane, put this fun quilt together.  She used a  bunch of fun, colorful scraps to create this fabulous quilt that a child is sure to love!  She quilted it herself with a swirly star pattern and used a fun barnyard printed pattern for the back of  the quilt.  Approximate Size:  37” x 29.5”

 

Round Robin Quilt

This fabulous quilt was created by my mother-in-law.  It was supposed to be a Round Robin Quilt from a class she took but for some reason she never finished it until recently.  The bright colors she chose look absolutely fabulous against the black background fabric.  This would be a great quilt for a baby, young child or even a lap!  When Diane finished putting the top together she sent it to her sister, Barb (quiltsbybarb.etsy.com) to quilt with her long arm machine.  The quilting she did works just perfectly for this quilt!

Approximate Size:  47.5” x 59.5”
