My parents were very artistic and always had art stuff around for us. My mom taught me embroidery when I was about 7, just the lazy daisy stitch, the others came later. Drawing became an escape when I was older. I had caricatures of my dog and cat that have evolved into various things. I always wanted to learn to quilt.

I remember a crazy quilt we had from my Grandma Margaret. It had all those cool stitches with satiny and velvet patches. It was ruined by the time I was 11, I wish I had known to save it and take care of it, it would be such a great heirloom. After my own mother died in 2001, I finally learned to quilt. I think it was the thought of dieing before I could learn that finally got me to take the plunge.

The first quilt I made was for my grandson. He was just a bump in the belly of my oldest daughter at the time. I sewed it without matching the corners as no one had showed me how but the colors and quilting made up for it. I quilted it all by hand with black perle cotton. The next one I did turned out better as I had learned to match the corners. It will always be one of my favorite quilts as it has Raggedy Ann and Andy in it. (Pic attached) I quilted this one with ecru perle cotton all by hand and hand drew the appliques with fabric markers. This quilt was given to my oldest daughter as well for her legacy.

One of the funnest books to read with my grandson was "Fox In Socks" by Dr. Suess. There is a part in there about Tweedle Beatles. I adapted the name TweedleBee from that phrase.

This is my only venue at the moment. I am looking for a part time real life job but small towns are very limited in their offerings.

I would love to have my children's stories published. They have little characters I have made into toys to go with them. That is the ultimate dream. Also to have them on fabric, what fun that would be!

I honestly don't remember how I came across Etsy, I had been looking for a way to sell online but was very illiterate when it came to the whole online shopping, buy/sell stuff idea. Unfamiliar things scare me to be honest. I don't like to do something I have never done.

Have fun while you are doing this or it will be a chore.

As it stands now, I will be greatly affected by the new law. I am trying to branch out but it is hard as the toys and quilts are the soul of my creativity. I think I am a child at heart.
