Edit Post
I have talked about my quilts and my baby clothes...now you're going to hear about the jewelry that i like to make. This is one of the first crafts that I started to seriously start to make. I love having a variety of beads/wire/fiber in front of me and then in a little while I have a beautiful piece of jewelry. Usually the beads tell me what they want to become...I rarely (pretty much never) have a plan ahead of time. I will maybe choose a main color and then let things be created from there.
I get my ideas from all over the place...other peoples jewelry, shopping, nature, garage sales, and the beads themselves. I love to go to State Street in Madison and go through all the small shops and see what's "in" for the season. Finding lost 'gems' at garage sales is also one of my favorite things. I love taking a ridiculously gaudy piece of costume jewelry apart and using the beads to make some magnificent (or equally gaudy...just more fashionable to this time).
Another one of my goals when making jewelry is to have a wide variety of styles and prices for people. I have very simple $4 earrings and then some more extravagant $15 earrings. The difference in my prices are determined by the type of beads I use (glass vs. semi-precious vs. crystals) and the level of difficulty in creating the piece. Pricing is one of the hardest things for me. I LOVE making jewelry and I LOVE seeing other people excited about purchasing my jewelry. That's why I like to make it available to everyone.
On February 7th, 2009, I will be at the Capri Gallery in Poynette, WI from 1 to 3. I am participating in a 'meet the artist' event as Linda sells some of my jewelry there. I am very excited to be involved with this event and I'm trying to think of some fun things to maybe make for people to see...my head is turning this minute.

I hope after this you decide to check out the jewelry sections in my etsy shop: necklaces/bracelets, earrings, and rings.
Also, if you like my 'style' of jewelry making but the colors aren't right for you, please send me an email or convo me and I'd be more than happy to work with you in making the perfect piece.
