Season 1, Challenge 8 - Nursery Rhymes
11:49 AM |
Edit Post
Here we are. The final Challenge of Season 1 is about to begin. Let me say that I have been amazed by the quality of the past entries. There have been public winners and judges winners and even random winners for every challenge, and a season winner will be declared in a couple of weeks, but I want you to know I think you're all winners. What you have learned during Project Quilting will make you all better quilters. I'm really happy to have been a part of Season 1.
I'm sure many of you read these challenges and see something like, "Your finished piece cannot be a square or a rectangle." and you think, "What is she thinking?!?!?". Let me say that it is not that I'm a big fan of quilting projects in odd shapes. It is that I want you to think in a different way and try something you otherwise wouldn't. I'm a believer that the only way you can truly fail is if you never try. My job as the Challenge designer is to encourage you to try.
So...on to Challenge 8.
1. The inspiration for Challenge 8 is your favorite Nursery Rhyme. Remember, this is and INSPIRATION and does not need to be a literal translation.
2. No twists and turns and strange requirements this week. Not even a size restriction. Take the theme and run with it. Can't wait to see what you all come up with.
3. POST your entries with a description of your creative process, including where you are (ie, I create in Madison, WI) and the size of your project by Sunday, August 22, at noon, CDT, to this flickr group – Project QUILTING with KimsCraftyApple: http://www.flickr.com/groups/1401824@N21/ OR email a picture/description of your completed project to lapaceksorchard@gmail.com with PROJECT QUILTING in the subject line.
4. If this is the first Project Quilting challenge you've participated in, please email Kim at lapaceksorchard@gmail.com with PROJECT QUILTING in the subject line so that Kim can send you feedback from the judges and keep you updated on the behind the scenes going-ons.
