McTavishing in Lodi
Tonight I became a member of my very first Quilt Guild – The Lodi Valley Quilters Guild.
At the very first meeting I was lucky enough to hear a very talented, very funny quilter speak – Karen McTavish.
She was a FANTASTIC speaker – entertaining and knowledgeable. It was great to hear how she started as a long arm quilter and of course to see her work in person! I did have to buy her book, Mastering the Art of McTashing - about the quilting technique she created – McTavishing. It’s making me more and more anxious to set up my new long arm…but I must wait until we’re through apple season. A little re-arranging is necessary to fit that bad boy into the basement.
Tonight also made me super excited about the quilt retreat I’m going to this weekend! Now – the big question – do I do the project they’re teaching or do I do my own thing? Either way – I have to start getting ready soon!

If I know you Kim, you will be doing your own thing :O)
I am a bit envious that you have a longarm. Someday, I would like one too. What restraint to hold off setting it up until after apple season.
