Block 16 – Home Sweet Home Quilt Along 'Branch Sweet Branch' from Sally’s Angelworks
6:44 AM |
Edit Post
I can’t believe that it’s the 16th block already! After this block you’ll havea beautiful quilt! If you want to add more though, 3 more *bonus* blocks will be posted in the next week or two along with LOTS of ideas for sashing and cornerstones. In my mind – the more this quilt has the better it’s going to be – I’m so excited about how it’s looking already! Before we get ahead of ourselves, let’s take a few minutes to learn about our 16th designer – Sally Keller of Sally’s Angelworks.
What is your crafting style?
I am involved in many types of fun crafting! Most of them surround fabric!! One of my favorite types of crafting is to combine a bunch of different mediums like fabric, embroidery, paper crafting, and scrapbooking in one piece of art.
How did you get started creating?
I think the first time I did anything "crafty" (besides coloring when i was little) was in high school when I found my first rubber stamp. I was hooked on paper crafting from that point on. And when my first child was born, I learned how to sew baby clothes. That's when I fell hopelessly in love with the feel of fabric. But it wasn't until my fourth child was born that I really embraced quilting! What a fun way to express yourself artistically and practically!! Snuggling up in my creations or surrounding myself with my art pieces on the wall is so fun for me!!
Do you have a favorite piece?
One of my favorite pieces is one of my small mini art quilts which features DumDum sucker wrappers! It's a super fun wild little tribute to being sweet! ♥ And it embraces my style of inspiration, creativity, and whimsical fun!!
What is your favorite crafty blog to follow/read?
I have so many blogs that I follow! But some of my faves are listed on my darling friend, Amanda's (the Quilted Fish) blog - her creative team, which I am soooo blessed to be a part of!! The Quilted Fish's Creative Team
Which part of the creating process does you like the most? the inspiration...i love to be inspired and to see where my little brain goes with that inspiration!!
Which part of the creating process do you dislike the most? with quilting, i really dislike pin basting quilts!
Favorite Movie: The Emperor's New Groove
Beverage of Choice: unsweetened Texas Ice Tea
Sweet or Salty? unfortunately for my hips, sweet!!
Number 1 on your Bucket List: Disney World with my 4 children, mr gorgeous, and my mom!!
