Project Quilting - Shoofly questions answered
7:57 PM |
Edit Post
Hi Everybody, There have been a few questions, so I thought I'd address them here. (Sorry I didn't jump in sooner here, but it's beautiful today and my greenhouse was calling.)
1. The stripe can go anywhere you want on the front of the quilt....border, binding, blocks, background......your choice. Just use a stripe.
2. No minimum size, just a maximum.
3. Since we're Project Quilting, we're saying this needs to be a quilt. Now, in my opinion, that includes anything that includes a front, some kind of batting and a back and it is all held together in some way. So feel free to go with that. It certainly does not need to be a traditional flat quilt. A garment? A teddy bear? A table topper? All sound fine to me as long as they include the 3 layers.
4. It does need to be a finished quilt and not just a quilt top. All challenges will be small enough to be quilted using your home sewing machine. Or see number 3 above if you have a different idea.
One more comment. On Project Runway they get 30 minutes to sketch and 30 minutes to shop. Sounds resonable to me. Follow your instincts. Make what jumps into your head. I promise we won't throw anyone out for interpreting the guidelines differently than I had in mind.
Can't wait to see your creations...............
